Veterans Justice Project Partners and Programs

The primary focus of Veterans Justice Project is provide incarcerated veterans with access to necessary VA forms, assistance with claims, and transition services and resources. Since arriving to NYC in the summer of 2022 and placed in a violent veterans' shelter under the guise of a federal Veterans Affairs Grant and Per Diem transtional program, Tim Pena has championed for better transitional services and resources for those veterans experiencing homelessness and in transition.

Only 24% of veterans in NYC self-identify leaving thousands of without access to much needed services they have earned through service to this country. Experience has shown that oftentimes, veterans are presented with mostly non-veteran case workers more interested in leaving honorably-discharged veterans in shelters in order to mentally stabilize them than for a successful outcome.

The following partners, organizations, and concerned community leaders are all focused on reducing homelessness, mental illness, financial instability , and suicide ideation of our most vulnerable veterans.
